I have included work from both my A-Level studies and the foundation diploma programme that I am currently on. During sixth-form I was interested in reflections, distortion and structure, this has, to some extent, continued into my foundation year. I have gained experience on the foundation programme which I didn't during sixth form and I wish to continue my artistic development at university; I feel the course at Manchester will allow me to do this. I have experienced working from a life model and regularly working on larger scale work, even developed drawings skills, by working with the weight of line, tonal studies, underlying structures and texture and pattern. This year, so far, has pushed me to improve my work, allows me to dwell a little less on those pieces which I am not as happy with and lets me continue with my artistic development. This year has also drawn me further into contextual studies and the history of art, something I want to submerse myself in further, by re-visiting the art galleries of London, Manchester and Liverpool, as well as others.
The work I have submitted, I hope, shows what I can produce and also what I have the potential to produce.
